THIS WEB-SITE IS THE OFFICIAL WRITTEN VOICE OF THE WBTC AMATEUR RADIO GROUP|
The Wasatch Back Tri County Amateur Radio Group consists of 83 Ham Radio Operators and two Support Operator mostly residing in three neighboring rural northern Utah counties of Wasatch, Summit and Morgan. Members also reside in Utah and Salt Lake Counties and are usually assigned to the tri-county nearest them. Members presently range from 17 to 87 years of age.
The Group is governed by an Operating Management Statement. County activities are directed by the County Emergency Coordinator (EC) and a Net Manager. An elected Group Coordinator oversees the administrative coordination between the three associated counties.
A weekly net is conducted every Thursday at 2100 hours local time on the 147,360 kHz repeater, located on Lewis Peak (Summit County). Backup simplex frequencies are 145,610 (Primary) and 146,730 (secondary). The packet frequency is 145,010 kHz.
Three Group Eyeballs are held during the year; winter (first Saturday in February), spring/summer (first Saturday in June), and fall (second Saturday in October). Each being held in one of the three participating tri-counties on a rotational bases.
There is no application for membership. Membership is established by participation.
Group Activities consist of: WBTC VHF Net check-ins, Formal Message Passing, Group field events such as Field Day, monthly State RACES nets, RACES/ARES Fall Conference, annual Utah VHF Society Swap Meet, Group tri-yearly Eyeballs, and Group training events.
Participate in three group activities in one month to get established on the check-in log. Then maintain 2 group activities for each month thereafter to remain on the log and on the yearly Group Roster.
All members conduct Net Functions, such as Net Control Station (NCS), check-ins, or training functions on the weekly nets.
Member Dues are $10 per year; due at each February Eyeball.
There are two kinds of membership: 1) FCC licensed Amateur Radio Operator; and 2) non-licensed Support Operator.
A Support Operator must maintain membership eligibility through participation just as the FCC Licensed Amateur Radio Operator. SOs check into the Group Nets as Third Party traffic; under direct supervision of an FCC licensed operator. They also participate in training and field activities.
The WBTC AR Group callsign is K7WBG (June 2013).

|360 FUND; ASSIST WITH UPKEEP OF THE 360 REPEATER|
Posted by k7nal on Tuesday, May 17 @ 15:08:39 CDT
AT THE 29TH GROUP EYEBALL Saturday, 14 May, as an Item on the Eyeball Agenda. After discussion it was proposed (by W7DEE), seconded (by N7RSV), and unanimously agreed by all attending, that the Group should assist Dave Williams, who owns and maintains the 360 repeater on Lewis Peak, with the costs in maintaining this repeater. Annual voluntary contributions made by Group Members and other interested users of the 360 Repeater would be given to Dave, annually in a lump sum, to assist with his costs of maintaining a repeater system that we all use. There was no fixed contribution amount discussed. It was decided that whatever an individual could contribute would be fine. Again, this will be an annual contribution. This effort will from here on be referred to as the 360 FUNDS. We all realize that our contribution will fall short, but at least it will help out a bit.
To date $160 has been collected. (updated 20 May)
